Applications for a fee waiver are handled by the Welfare Department and once an assessment is complete, patients are charged the minimum rate (commensurate with their financial situation) or none at all.

Today, LWE is a world-class acute care hospital with world-class facilities and a range of services such as 24-hour emergency room, birthing suite and nursery, diabetes education courses, diet and nutrition counseling, in vitro fertilization center and more.
