The misunderstanding of many people is to apply toothpaste immediately after a burn. Do you do the same?

After scalding, the skin barrier is damaged and sensitive at this time, and it needs to be handled with care.

The following 6 steps are recommended to help heal wounds and reduce damage:

Step 1: Wash

Remove from heat and rinse wound with cold/tap water, not ice.

Step 2: Take off
Remove and remove clothing from the burn as much as possible. Once the clothing has stuck to the wound, don't force it.

Step 3: Soak

Continue soaking in cold water to cool down for 20-30 minutes. After a burn, do not apply ice cubes, as it is easy to get frostbite.

Step 4: Cover

Once cool, cover the burn with a clean gauze or towel.
Step 5: Wipe
Pain relievers can be applied to relieve wound pain, effective topical acetaminophen (such as Prolactin) or non-steroidal pain relievers (such as ibuprofen).

Step 6: Send
Seek immediate medical attention for severe or chemical burns, such as strong acids or chemicals.

In addition, remember, do not use Vaseline, toothpaste, soy sauce, lard, flour, etc. after burns and scalds, because these products may cause bacterial infection of the site, and these products are more viscous than ointments and are not easy to be cleaned.
